Sunday night painting with Arches paper is heaven

I was the lucky recipient of some beautiful 100% cotton 300GSM paper from the French paper mill, ARCHES. This stuff costs a small fortune so I have been waiting for the right time to begin painting on it and that time was tonight. After a very busy, messy, productive, hilarious weekend I don't know what overcame me to do anything but sleep - let alone begin a new painting. I used LIQUITEX paints for this little guy/girl and I am pretty happy with the outcome. No real reason for making this artwork other than I wanted to. This is when I paint the best. xxx

Apartment walls

To accomodate for the massive project which is ranging for June / July 2010, our department has bunkered down at the Quest Apartments in South Yarra for the week. I've been back in the office working on graphics for yardages, placement prints etc for the upcoming range. I ducked over to Quest to see how things were going and pick up some more briefs, and not only was I blown away (again) by how amazing the people I work with are, but I was equally blown away by the photographs that adorned the walls of our rented apartments. I did some enquiring and the artworks are by Rochelle Ward. The two pictured are my favourites. They remind me of the diorama phase I went through a while back, so I've been inspired to dust off the toy box and get reacquainted with the camera. xx

New work for SMIGGLE.. I love colouring!!

Recently I popped downstairs to Level 2 to assist with this new SMIGGLE animation, which is being screened in every SMIGGLE store right now. The piece took about an hour to shoot as we coloured in this big cartoon at a regular pace, and it was captured with a stop motion camera. Pictured is a screen shot, CLICK HERE to see the video online, or check it out next time you walk past any SMIGGLE store!
