This is the second time I have posted about the website THEM THANGS. That's because it was so awesome, and then all of a sudden it died. Disappeared without warning into cyber space, taking all of it's amazingness with it into oblivion. But now it's back, and it's back with a vengeance. It's a regularly updated collection of found photos, collated by one Justin Blythe. The photos are a beautiful, insane and profound mixture of visual inspiration (although I'm not so sure about the motorbikes - am I missing something??). Definitely worth stopping by and having a look around.

So I'm pretty much obsessed with these bikes by Electra. Not only because I love riding Cruisers but also because I love the artwork of master folk artist Alexander Girard. So these bikes are pretty much my dream ride as the artwork adorning them is by the former mentioned genius. They are pricey, coming in around the $1000 mark, but worth every dime I reckon. xxx

It has been the saddest hours I've had in a long time these past few days. Our little kitten Yuki wasn't walking properly, resulting in a trip to the vet which produced the pictured x-ray. The x-ray is a side view of Yuki's torso. We discovered she had a congenital malformation called Hyper-Lordosis, basically her spine was dipping down and crushing her heart and lungs. The more she grew the worse this was becoming. Dave and I spent an agonising day weighing up the options and in the end there was no option but to put Yuki to sleep. She would have ended up crippled and unable to breathe in the near future, something we were not going to put her through just so we could have her gorgeous company. I am so angry that she was suffering and so angry that her only way out of any suffering was to go to sleep forever. The photo of Yuki above is the last photo I took of her, while we were waiting for the vet. We cuddled and told her how beautiful she was while they injected her with this awful green life taking liquid and she went quickly and peacefully. She was such a beautiful creature who we had fallen head over heels in love with. I am totally devastated.

I was truly gutted to hear that the Mornington Antique Warehouse is closing. A possible relocation is under consideration by its owners, but finding something to compare to this amazing space will be tricky. Ever since I discovered this place years ago I have been a loyal fan, visiting often. Whether it be to find something in particular or just a lovely way to spend an afternoon, every time I walk down the aisles of this place and explore it's treasures I am inspired. From the cutest vintage toys to the out of this world weird, the Mornington Antique Centre is a goldmine for those who appreciate wares from bygone eras. The photos here aren't a patch on the bigger picture of what this place has to offer. I am so so sad to have to say goodbye to this incredible destinaton. Hopefully they will find a new home and be able to carry on this amazing venture xxx
