Katherine and I lived together years ago in St.Kilda while we were studying Interior Design at RMIT. Our time living together allowed us to form a life-long friendship, and while Katherine has been doing time in Brazil and LA working on dallasandcarlos, we keep tabs on where each other is at and I am so thrilled to see all her hard work come to fruition. Seeing D&C's treasures splashed across the pages of GRAZIA and Vogue on a regular basis has been super exciting, it's no wonder though, as their gold skulls, chain and flashes of neon make for some awesome accessories. Pictured is my favourite, the hollenbeck skull bracelet.
Virginia's label bul is a huge inspiration to me. I've known Virginia for years and after she spent time in the USA working in some amazing fashion houses (including Proenza Schouler) she returned home to Melbourne and launched bul. She now has three stores across Melbourne. The ranges she has produced are absolutely beautiful. I'm a sucker for good quality staples for my wardrobe, so her silks, jerseys and leathers have got me hooked. The above image is from her SS/11 collection, and as I spend most of my day designing fabric yardages, I'm in awe of her yardage choices and the styling across her range.
